The two day course includes presentation and guest lecturers to support composite repair application and process. Sample composite materials will be available for review during the course. This is an interactive class with discussion and media content provided on composite repairs to enhance the learning experience. This ten-day course includes lectures and practical workshop sessions, to support composite repair application and process. Sample composite materials will be available for review during the course. This is an interactive class with discussion and media content provided on composite repairs to enhance the learning experience. All delegates will receive a Certificate of Completion upon completion of this course.

Who Should Attend?

This course is aimed at staff of Aviation MROs, Airlines, Technical Service Organisations within the aviation industry who will be actively involved in the repair of advanced composites.

Course Objectives

  • Provide an understanding of composite materials and uses including correct storage and waste removal.
  • Demonstrate how to conduct damage and repair assessments for advanced composite components.
  • Teach attendees how to complete advanced composite repairs on components. Manufactured from advanced composite materials such as fibreglass and carbon fibre.
  • Teach attendees how to use of the relevant repair manuals and complete the appropriate documentation.
  • Provide an understanding on the use of workshop equipment for repair of advanced composite components.
  • Provide an understanding of the Health and Safety aspects of advanced Composite Materials.

Course Objectives

  • Provide an understanding of composite materials within an advanced engineering focus e.g. fibre types and forms, resins, additives.
  • Introduce attendees to composite design and material selection based upon the specific engineering scenario the composite component must operate.
  • Outline composite testing procedures including the why and when they are employed.
  • Illustrate composite structural analysis to complement design and testing.
  • Demonstrate how composites can be damaged.
